Our Policy

In 2003, ALT-nagano.com was formed to provide teaching assistants (ALTs) for English education in elementary and junior high schools.

Through many years of experience in the business, ALT-nagano.com recognizes the importance of ALTs in the enrichment of English education in schools.

ALT-nagano.com believes that acquiring communication skills through the learning of English has significant meaning for children to broaden their possibilities for the globalizing future.

In order to meet the expectations of every school and maintain a high level of quality staff, ALT-nagano.com provides professional ALTs along with all-around support that includes matters that schools and administration can otherwise not provide.

Requirements of ALTs

Personality
Interested in Japan and highly motivated to teach here.
Willing to try hard to adapt to Japanese culture and communicate with others.
Interested in joining community events.
Effort Toward Education
Able to create lessons plans and put forth effort to improve teaching skills.
Experience
Having extensive teaching experience in Japan or other countries.

Education for ALTs

• We boost ALT teaching motivation through regular workshops.
• We propose new ideas that we receive from ALTs to schools and strive to incorporate　them in lessons in order to increase the presence and effectiveness of ALTs.
• We listen regularly to the needs and concerns of schools in regards to ALTs and　strive to find ways to improve them through interviews with ALTs.
• We support ALTs in their daily lives to help provide a balanced lifestyle and help　ensure focus when teaching.

Community Participation

ALT-nagano.com encourages ALTs to join the community and interact with people.

• Participation in events in the area around one’s school.
• Participation in school sports festivals.
• Participation in volunteer firefighting squads.
• Introducing one’s home country and food at community events.
• Holding international exchange events.
